Introducing Leduc Chiropractor Dr. Trina Baynes

Simply put, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I began Chiropractic College.  I had mistakenly thought that chiropractors were just back doctors.

Leduc Chiropractor,<br>Dr. Trina BaynesI received my first chiropractic adjustment after beginning Chiropractic College.  I remember thinking at the time, “Why do I need my back adjusted, I don’t have any pain?”  The reason I became interested in chiropractic was because of a family member who had debilitating back pain and was helped by chiropractic.  So, you can imagine my surprise when I noticed so many improvements in my overall health and wellness.  I had more energy.  I was sleeping better. I had fewer colds, and when I did catch a cold it was not as severe and I recovered more quickly.  My menstrual cramps, which had plagued me for years, were barely noticeable anymore.  I found it easier to deal with the everyday stresses of life.  I had stumbled into a life changing experience and have not looked back.

I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland where I am originally from.  I then moved to Davenport, IA to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic, the fountainhead of chiropractic.  Palmer taught me the importance of a healthy spine and nervous system in overall health and wellness.  Every tissue and organ has a nerve supply.  I can have problems that I won’t necessarily feel.  That motivated me to look at other aspects of my life, my diet, sleeping habits, exercise.  I came to learn that I am responsible for my health and that my actions today will have consequences on my health in the future.  It is this philosophy that drives me in my practice everyday.  I want to do more than just help people with their pain.  I want to help them on their path to total health and wellness.

It is at Palmer that I met my husband and partner Dr. Bretton Baynes.  After graduation, we moved back to Alberta (my husband is from here) and decided that Leduc was the ideal location for us.  Leduc really is a community on the move.  It is growing but still has that small town feel and for us is the perfect place to raise a family.  When not at the office we enjoy spending time with friends and family, outdoor activities and cheering on our local junior B hockey team, the Riggers (Dr. Bretton is the team trainer).

We both get adjusted on a weekly basis to keep our spine healthy and balanced.  We also make exercise, proper nutrition and getting a good night’s sleep part of our regular routine.  These have been the key factors to ensuring our optimal well-being and health.

Dr. Trina Asks some important questions of interest to Leduc residents - Chiropractor Leduc Dr. Trina Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our Leduc chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
